OUR POLICY TO AVOID PROBLEMS AND MISUNDERSTANDINGS ON YOUR MOVE When you are doing your own packing, here are some tips to avoid the potential of additional charges, please make sure that all packing is completed by the date of the move. All cartons transported must have tops and be sealed shut. We are not responsible for cartons packed by owner due to improper packing or Items not packed such as: stereo systems and computer, marble tops or other objects, glass, paintings, lamps, or lampshades, plasma televisions, flat screen televisions, outdoor pots, vases, Statues moved per your request but not packed by us or packed at all. Chests of drawers can be transported with items left inside. Please be sure that there is nothing in them that will spill or break. We don’t check your draws. Due to Insurance Liabilities, We are not permitted to disconnect, or reconnect appliances such as gas dryers, ice-makers, water- lines, or washer hoses form water taps. Refrigerators and freezers must be empty. If we are asked to hook or unhook appliances we may do it as a courtesy but our employee, Cloud’s Moving Company or Insurance Company will not be liable for any damage. Due to Insurance Liabilities, Items that are attached (bolted, nailed, screwed) to your walls, ceiling the roof, etc.; must be removed prior to the move. . If we are asked to we may do it as a courtesy but our employee, Cloud’s Moving Company or Insurance Company will not be liable for any damage. Any items that are hazardous (flammable, corrosives, aerosol spray cans, combustibles, ammunition, paint, perishables, explosives) cannot be transported. In addition there are several liquids, such as liquid bleach, that is not movable. We cannot transport propane tanks. Plants are considered perishable and should not be transported. In some cases, the driver may be willing to haul them, but is not required to do so. However, the driver is not liable if he does agree to transport them. Please do not ship valuable items such as coin collections, Jewelry, and etc. pursuant to regulations we are not liable for such items. All Furniture made of particle board frequently comes apart at the slightest movement. We would be happy to move such items, but cannot guarantee their staying intact during shipping and handling. They should be disassembled for the move. Cloud’s Moving Company will not be liable for any damage to items made of particle board. Children and Pets: Please provide care for your pets. Pets become stressed in the move. Please also keep small children out of the way of the Movers, Truck, and off the walk boards. We are not responsible for them and don’t want them hurt. We Require on Interstate Moves a Deposit of 50% down balance at Delivery. NO personal checks! The driver is required to receive payment before unloading the Moving Van. (Cash on Delivery (COD) – This means payment is required at the time of delivery at the destination residence (or warehouse). Void filling can also be performed for stabilization and to fill holes caused by animals, sprinkler drainage problems or soil erosion. Other Tips: Refrigerators: Defrost and thoroughly dry your refrigerator! (this is important). After defrosting, the doors should be left open several hours to air dry. All pans, trays, crispers, shelves or removable parts should be removed and wrapped separately. Stoves: Your stove must be disconnected prior to pick up. Be sure gas lines are shut off tight and capped. For electric ranges, if the coils are loose, they must be removed together with griddles, deep fryers and removable parts, and then packed separately. Freezers: One or two days prior to moving, your freezer must be defrosted! To avoid musty odor, they should be dried and aired out. It is best to empty your freezer and plan meals that will use up perishable contents. Television Sets: Television antennas should be removed from rooftops and disassembled. Some color TV's must be serviced both before and after moving. Washers: Motors should be checked and secured, tumbler action protected and fastened in place. Automatic washers must be serviced by an authorized service man.
